Tasty Tuesday (Younger Oncology)

| June 12, 2019

We had a Tasty Tuesday filled with food, fun and an unforgettable field trip! We jumped out of bed when we heard some of our early rising staff yell, “Polar Bear Swim”, throughout each cabin. Some brave campers took the polar plunge once again, in hopes of earning a medal at the end of the week. While others decided to keep warm and sleep in a few extra minutes before breakfast. Those who were early risers, but did not want to start their day by jumping in the pool, chose a more relaxing activity to participate in until breakfast – yoga.

Breakfast consisted of tasty hash brown casserole, cereal and juice. There were with no left overs to spare. After breakfast, we boarded buses to make our way to Champs in Lexington for the day. Our campers had a blast roller skating, playing laser tag, and playing games with each other. Between the unlimited pizza, games and soda we did not think our campers would ever want to leave.

We packed our tired campers back on the bus and arrived back at camp just in time for dinner. We ate baked chicken, green beans, and sweet potato fries. We also made grilled cheese sandwiches galore for those who were picky eaters. Our campers will never go hungry here at the Wacky World of Food!

After dinner, we went for a night swim in the pool, followed by a movie. We watched How to Train Your Dragon 3 while enjoying yummy popcorn, slushies and snacks.

Our campers are exhausted from our adventurous day and are all tucked into bed asleep. We are expecting Wednesday to be our wackiest day yet! We are hoping it will bring more food and fun our way.

Goodnight from Indian Summer Camp.
