Shelby was hired as the Kids Cancer Alliance, Inc. ED in May 2010. Shelby received her Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2006 and her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2007. Shelby volunteered at camp as a counselor for five years and worked as the outpatient social worker at the U.K. Pediatric Hematology-Oncology clinic before her employment with KCA. Shelby says she enjoys working for KCA because there’s always a new challenge around the corner and because she is continuously learning from and being inspired by the children and families we serve.

Emily joined Kids Cancer Alliance in 2019. Prior to KCA, she worked in the Alumni Relations department at her alma mater, Bellarmine University. Since receiving her BA in 2015, she’s planned a wide variety of events including luxury and destination weddings, non-profit fundraisers, corporate meetings, and various social gatherings. Her visit to Indian Summer Camp in 2017 left a lasting impression; she later jumped at the opportunity to coordinate our fundraising events and is eager to support our mission. Outside of work, Emily enjoys traveling with her husband, Landon, and playing with their Cavapoo, Charlie.
