Committee Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently seeking volunteers to join the committees listed below. Our volunteer committees are critical to the work of Kids Cancer Alliance and we look forward to working with you! Please review the list of committees below and reach out to the listed staff contact to learn more.

Philanthropy Committee: Help develop and execute fundraising plans for the organization to achieve its annual fundraising goals. Meets monthly year around. (Statewide)

Program Committee: Meets 4-6x/year to ensure KCA’s programs are strategically aligned with our organization’s mission and goals. This committee does not plan programs, but rather provides strategic guidance to the direction of our programming. Previous knowledge of our programs and/or needs of childhood cancer families preferred. (Statewide)

Concert for the Cause Event Committee: Meets once a month February-September. Help with annual event fundraising, sponsorships,  silent and live auctions, and ticket/table sales. (Louisville based).

Scholarship Committee: Meets 2-3 times each spring. The committee evaluates and scores scholarship applications and makes scholarship award recommendations to the executive board. No other KCA program involvement preferred for unbiased scoring. (Statewide)

Marketing Committee: Meets monthly year around. Help with public relations and forming media partnerships, awareness, and fundraising efforts throughout the community and help guide the strategic marketing initiatives of the organization. (Statewide)

Finance Committee: Meets four times a year to assist in planning the organization’s budget and overseeing the financial health of the organization (Statewide). There is also an Investment Sub-Committee who oversees the success of the organization’s investment accounts.

Governance Committee: Responsible for the ongoing review and recommendations to enhance the quality of the Board of Directors by recruiting committee members, nominate candidates for board positions, encourage board development and assess board performance. Individuals with Human Resource experience and/or community connections are great qualifications.
