Shelby Russell

Executive Director

Shelby is the Executive Director for Kids Cancer Alliance and joined the team in May 2010. She is responsible for the overall achievement of Kids Cancer Alliance’s mission and goals. Shelby was a camp volunteer and a Pediatric Oncology Social Worker & Child Life Specialist prior to joining our team. When she’s not working, Shelby enjoys tennis, reading, and spending time with her husband and two little boys.

Leah McComb

Program Director

Leah is the program director for Kids Cancer Alliance and joined the team in February 2014.  She is responsible for program growth and evaluation.  Prior to joining KCA she attended Purdue University  and worked for the YMCA of Greater Louisville.

Becca Crandall

Philanthropy Director

Becca is the Philanthropy Director for Kids Cancer Alliance and joined the team in May 2019. She is responsible for developing and leading the organization’s strategic fund development program including annual giving, major gifts, planned gifts, special events, corporate giving and grants. Before joining the KCA team, Becca spent nine years at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana in program, administrative, and support positions. Becca spends her free time with her wife, Joycie, their son Henry, and their three dogs: Bill, Ted, and Kate Chastain the Great Dane.

Brandon “Spot” Padgett

Program Coordinator

Brandon “Spot” is the Program Coordinator for Kids Cancer Alliance and joined the team in April 2016.  He is responsible for Camps, Retreats, and Family events.  He spent Several years working for the Tim Horton Children’s foundation as well as summers with Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center.   He has a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Tourism, and Sports Management and a Minor in Communications from Lindsey Wilson College.  He likes to spend his free time with his wife Emily and their dog Luna, as well as finding fun places to fish, watching movies, and playing games.

Lorin McVey

Philanthropy Coordinator

Lorin McVey joined the Kids Cancer Alliance family this January, 2023 as the Philanthropy Coordinator. After graduating from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she quickly realized her passion was in the nonprofit field. With close to six years’ experience, Lorin brings a deep understanding of the industry with previous work experience in development, programs, and advocacy. As a teen cancer survivor, Lorin is passionate about building relationships and helping support KCA’s mission. When not at work, she enjoys reading, spending time with her husband, two boys and her mischievous puppy, Stella.

Brandon Woehrle

Administrative Assistant

Brandon is the Administrative Assistant for Kids Cancer Alliance and joined the team in April 2014. He is responsible for IT needs, bookkeeping, and office maintenance. Brandon is a cancer survivor, alumni of our camp program, and has been part of the Kids Cancer Alliance community since 1993. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Indiana University Southeast. His wife Grace and he have two cats and he loves to play music, board games, and technology.

Allison Pecore

Program Assistant

Allison Pecore is the Program Assistant for Kids Cancer Alliance and joined the team in March 2023. She is responsible for providing support to all aspects of KCA programming. Allison has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Louisville. She enjoys spending her free time with her four kids, traveling and reading.
